Duc Thanh School

This is a school founded by patriotic scholars in 1907 to respond to the Duy Tan movement in Trung Ky. Duc Thanh school also marks the time when President Ho Chi Minh stopped to teach before entering Saigon. Today, in Duc Thanh school area, almost intact memorabilia from nearly a century ago is still preserved.

 

Palace of Van Thuy Tu

On Ngu Ong Street, Duc Thang Ward, City. Phan Thiet has a temple to worship the god Nam Hai – ie Ca Ong (whale). The set of Ong fish bones kept at Van Thuy Tu palace is 22m long, weighs 65 tons, and is considered the largest in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. Every year at the Palace, ritual ceremonies are held solemnly on lunar days: February 20 (Te Xuan); April 20 (Fisheries); June 20 (Main season); July 20 (Vertical Rowing) and August 23 (Out of season). During the ceremony, there are other activities such as boi singing, ba Trao performance, boat racing festival, etc.

Ong Hoang’s Palace

On the way to Mui Ne, you will surely be curious to discover Lau Ong Hoang because it is associated with the name of the poet Han Mac Tu. Lau Ong Hoang used to be the dating place between Han Mac Tu and Mong Cam – the poet’s lover. Poet Han Mac Tu has many poems about this charming landscape.

Poshanu Cham Tower

Poshanu Tower is located on Ba Nai hill, Phu Hai ward, 7 km northeast of Phan Thiet center. Poshanu Cham Towers is a group of remnants of the ancient Champa Kingdom. The tower has Hoa Lai architectural style – one of the ancient art styles of Champa. Although it is only small and medium in size, it has distilled the quintessence of architectural techniques and decorative arts of the ancient Cham people to create a majestic and mysterious look.

Ho chi minh museum

Ho Chi Minh Museum – Binh Thuan Branch was established on May 19, 1986, this is where President Ho Chi Minh lived and taught in 1910 before he entered Saigon to find a way to save the country.

What to eat when traveling to Phan Thiet?

Rolled rice paper rolls

This dish is sold along with grilled rice paper with fish sauce on the roadside. The ingredients are very simple: sticky rice paper + fish sauce + fat balls + quail eggs. Everything is rolled up very tasty and attractive. This dish is usually sold in the evening.

Pancakes

Pancakes are a simple and nutritious dish. You can use bread to dip with the soup, there are many styles such as fish cake soup, steamed rice cake soup. This dish in Phan Thiet is a bit sweet, maybe you will not get used to it, but please enjoy it once! In addition to banh chung, you can also eat bread with shumai which is great.

Seafood salad

Salad is considered a dish you definitely have to enjoy when traveling to Phan Thiet. Fish salad is prepared from fresh apricot, stream or opaque fish served with raw vegetables, vermicelli and a special dipping sauce.
