Step 1:-  Send Your Payroll Data or Usage Data after updating the QuickBooks Desktop -

  • Select Employees, My Payroll Service, and then Send Usage Data. If this option is not available, proceed to the next step.
  • Choose Employees, then Payroll Data to Send.
  • Pick Send All from the Send/Receive Payroll Data window. If prompted, enter your payroll service pin.

Step 2:-  Fixed the blocked paychecks on payroll

  • The first and most important step is to tap on the ‘Edit’ option and then click on 'Find.’
  • Afterwards, select the Advanced tab.
  • Proceeding further, choose the Filter list and pick the Detail Level option from the ‘Choose Filter’ section.
  • Next, go to the Summary Only option.
  • After that, move to the Choose Filter section. 
  • Tap the 'Online Status' option from the 'Filter' list.
  • Select 'Online to Send' from the drop-down menu.
  • Click 'Find' to see if your paychecks are pending or have not yet been sent.
  • Repeat the 'Verify and Rebuild' data activity to rectify the error.

Step 3:- Run Verify and Rebuild Data Tool:-

Before running the verify and rebuild data tool, ensure that you have generated a company file backup. 

  • To initiate the process, open the QuickBooks Desktop application.
  • Following this, move to the File menu and choose Utilities from the list of options. Furthermore, opt for the Rebuild Data option.
  • After this, shut down all the open apps and background apps running in the background on your PC.
  • If QuickBooks cannot find any errors in your data, click OK.
  • Proceed to the file, utilities, and data rebuilding.
  • Click OK and then Save to generate a backup.
  • In the end, allow the rebuild to complete its task and then opt for the View Results option.

Step 4:- Verify the Information on Paychecks Stuck in QuickBooks 

  • Initially, you have to access the oldest stuck paycheck and tap on the Paycheck Detail option.
  • After this, from the upcoming window of Review Paycheck, add the same earnings items in the list under the Earnings section.
  • Doing so will display a Net Pay Locked message on your computer screen. 
  • Thereafter, you need to ensure there are no changes in the tax amount and net pay. Furthermore, click on the Yes option.
  • Tap on the Yes option if prompted with a Past Transaction message.
  • Following this, exit from the paycheck by selecting the Save & Close option.
  • Proceeding further, click Yes when you see the Recording Transaction Warning message on your screen.
  • Once again, open the paycheck and opt for the Paycheck Detail button.
  • Delete the newly added earnings items from the Earnings section.
  • Verify that the tax amounts and net pay have not changed. Choose OK.
  • Repeat these steps for each of the paychecks in the Online to Send status result.
