Unseen North India: Special Places for Every Traveler

Introduction

"I've always felt a deep connection to North India, drawn by its rich history, diverse cultures, and breathtaking landscapes. Inspired by the natural beauty and vibrant heritage of the Philippines, I embarked on a journey to explore some of the most captivating tourist spots in this region. This adventure took our team through the stunning highlands of Himachal Pradesh, beginning from the bustling heart of India – Delhi. Dive into my articles to discover the incredible places I've had the pleasure of visiting in North India."

Discovering Delhi

I first started traveling to Delhi which is the colorful capital city of India. When I came out of the airport, I was immediately hit by that wind of sounds and colors. A car honking was heard together with people vending some food stuffs and other commodities and as well a good consume was smelled in the air. I began my journey with India Gate, a famous war memorial.

With our back towards the imposing structure of the arch I felt proud to be an American for a moment. I was given a chance to observe people go for picnics and children at the park. See how this monument united people; this gave me the warmth in my heart to see compassion among them.

After that, I proceed to Red Fort, a historical place. Overhead loomed the massive red sandstone walls; and passing through the gate, which was singularly ornate, I tried to recall the days of the Mughal kings. I wandered through the glorious sights; It was nice to watch the artistic and virtual botanical architectures. The stories of the guides helped to enliven the history, thus it was valuable.

The Charm of Agra

Subsequent to that I traveled to Agra where the magnificent Taj Mahal is situated. I got up early in the morning determined to take pictures of the sunrise at this historical landmark. When I reached the Taj, they were able to see the light house of the dawn on the white marbled surface of Taj. I was going to never forget this moment because the two of them seemed to be at ease for the first time.

This was due to the complexity carved on this structure and in addition to this the beauty of the structure. Each time I got to know that Taj Mahal was built in memory of the royal emperor’s wife – Mumtaz Mahal by Shah Jahan. Staring at it for a while, I valued even stronger being an author of something like that.

Then I visited Agra Fort also known as the Red Fort among the list of world heritage sites. Strolling in beautiful corridors and wonderful gardens I could only dream about the kind of all royal life that was here in this castle. Those watching the Taj from the fort were simply remarkable and I spent quite a lot of time merely gazing at the view.

Experiencing Jaipur

My next location was Jaipur, known as the Pink City because the buildings there are usually painted in pink shade. I went to see the Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Wind. I liked the complex and individual decorations and the roof structure. I decided to climb up to the top of the building to get a closer look at its scenic features; particularly, the neighboring market was so busy.

It took me to one of the most opulent palaces of fabled Jaipur – the Amber fort I could not visit Jaipur without visiting. I hired an elephant ride to go up the fort and I was echoing the past so close it was amazing. I was captivated with how big the fort and the scenery of the hills behind it. I walked for hours just within that compound only to discover beautiful architecture at every end turn.

Evening was for exploring local street markets, it gave a quick peek into the local folk life and tasted some of rural Rajasthani foods. The spices detected were all teasers and I had to taste the authentic Rajasthani dish, the dal Baati Churma. Each bite I relished every moment of my exploration of the culinary culture of that part of the world.

The Serenity of Rishikesh

Following the vivid color palette of the Pink City, I wanted some quiet, and Rishikesh, the Yoga Capital of the World, was the perfect place for this. When I arrived, I observed that it was very peaceful, quite like a serene place really. The sound of the Ganges river and the sight of green hills removed the noise helping to make it a tranquil environment.

I made up my mind on giving yoga and meditation a try at what the locals called an ashram. It was an eye opener. I discovered that the best way to handle the situation was either to breathe in or out and forget all the stressing thoughts. The sessions this year assisted me in discovering the self and the surrounding environment.

In the evening I went down to Triveni Ghat to see the Ganga Aarti here. The float of the water lanterns or the diyas with green and red flames along with the melodic chants was marvelous. I had a sensation that I can never explain. I was filled with an immense yet tranquil joy.

The Majestic Mountains of Himachal Pradesh

The mountains of Himachal Pradesh also known as the splendid mountains of the north region of India. I also traveled to Shimla, which was one of the favorite summer holiday destinations of the British. Looking at the environment which was highly charged, I did not fail to inhale the nice mountain air. It should not have been an easy ride getting to Shimla but I am certain that the views of the Great Himalayas were enticing all through.

Assuming that I have every opportunity to revisit India and do everything that I never did, I think that I enjoyed the toy train ride to Kalka most. These rail forming tracks have proved to be fascinating because people can look down as they are surrounded by mountains and valleys. It seemed to me that I was traveling through a beautiful picture postcard!

After Shimla, I went to the next beautiful hill station, Manali. They could freely roam around the green landscape, take a horse ride, paraglide, river rafting and do many more things during the day. Such a feeling of flying and riding a wild river really gave me a supply of adrenalin.

Conclusion

At the same time, I had a lot of different experiences throughout north India that made me realize how great it is to be a part of it. Whether it was observing the touristic attractions of Delhi and Agra or admiring the cultures of Jaipur or experiencing valleys of Rishikesh or the sleepy beauties of Shimla each place had a different story to tell.
