How To Save Money On Festivals Season

How to Save Money on Festivals Season

India's festival season begins in August. Bakrid and Raksha Bandhan are followed by Janmashtami and Ganesh Chaturthi, which continue through Christmas and New Year.

In contrast to other years when we could go out and splurge and shop, this year is different. There has been so much havoc in our lives caused by the pandemic. Nevertheless, celebrating these festivals may bring a sense of normalcy back to our lives, even if we do so in a small way.

Check out our money-saving tips for celebrating all the upcoming festivals.

Plan your festival budget

Yes, I agree! Budgeting is the first step. In contrast to previous years, where you could have thrown a celebration around the festival, the current situation demands some restraint. Despite appearing boring and old fashioned, budgeting for festival expenses is important.

Setting a budget requires you to take your current financial situation into consideration. The festival expenses may need to be reduced if you are experiencing financial difficulties.

Make sure you have an accurate forecast of what life will be like for you in the near future. Do you have a stable income? Does the industry where you work have the capacity to withstand economic shocks? Think about these questions before you spend.

Expenses should be spread across festivals

In the near future, we will be attending a number of festivals. You may be able to spread your expenses across a number of festivals based on your current financial situation. What is the best way to accomplish this? You know that, right?

You could split the cost of buying clothes and gifts for everyone in the family across festivals if you tend to buy them during each festival. Some people might get gifts during the first festival, while others might receive them during the next.

You can also start collecting funds now if you plan to buy a home appliance or gadget for the festive season. You should have it by Diwali/Christmas. Shopping on EMIs is also a good option if you are making a large purchase.

Almost everything you could do during the festival earlier can be achieved by tweaking this.

Find deals online and offline

Over the last few months, the economy has been struggling. There would be surplus stock lying around both online and offline retailers from the previous season. Both online and offline platforms are having clearance sales.

Consider scouting for some great deals during your festive shopping. Comparing prices between various sites is the best way to get the best deal online. The month of August is a great time to catch the launch of shopping festivals at Amazon and Flipkart.

If you are considering buying offline, you may be able to find better deals from smaller stores because these businesses have suffered the most. As a way to get their businesses going again, they may be willing to offer some discounts.

Let's make this a DIY festival

It is often the same object that is associated with the festival, for instance, our Rakhis for Rakshabandhan, our Ganesha idols for Chathurti, our earthen lamps or lanterns for Diwali, or our Christmas trees and decorations.

As a matter of convenience, you probably bought all these to celebrate the festival every year. What about a little Do It Yourself (DIY) to celebrate the festivals? Despite what you think, it won't be that hard.

A Ganesha figure modeled from your garden soil could be decorated with trinkets you already own, earthen lamps made from poster colours could be painted, paper lanterns could be made, and a flower carpet for Onam could be made from flowers in your garden. Furthermore, these methods are eco-friendly and will give you a lot of satisfaction.

All the family members could participate in these projects over the weekend. To come up with something interesting for the festivities, you could even design your clothes, recycle old ones, or upcycle them.  If you put a little bit of creativity into it, the possibilities are endless. The festive season begins with Raksha Bandhan. Here are some raksha bandhan 2022 images to share with your family and friends.
