Telangana was once part of the state of Andhra Pradesh. On 2 June 2014, the government of India divided the state into two parts, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and that was the day when the Telangana state was formed. The youngest 29th state of the country at that time. You know, Telangana has a glorious history of around two thousand five hundred years old history.
Let’s come to the king’s history of Telangana, the state has been ruled by great-great dynasties, like Sathavahanas, Kakatiyas, Chalukyas, Mughals, Qutubshahis, and Asafjahis. The Kakathiyas had contributed to the architecture a lot and were considered the most amazing and impressive architecture.
The rule of Bahamani, Quli Qutub was born in Persia and has become the governor of this region. And that was the time when the Persian culture was become famous and brought the concept of Hyderabadi Irani tea means Persian tea. You know the very famous Golconda fort, and Hussain Sagar Lawasere also built by Quli Qutub. The Jamia mosque at Charminar was also built by the Qutub shah.
Now, let’s read some information on how the state of Telangana was formed.
The division of state seed was sown in 1955 when the recommendation of the State's Reorganization Commission to keep Hyderabad City as a separate State left neglected. The Telangana state witnessed a violent protest ‘’separate Telangana’’ in 1969 and ‘’separate Andhra’’ in 1972 which was started by the students, government employees, and social groups. Telangana had faced lots of protests, arguments, and other things till 2014, on that year the new and youngest state has been formed on 2 June 2014.
After the independence of the country in 1947, Hyderabad remained independent for thirteen months. In the time of 1950s, the people of Telangana demanded a separate state and submitted the memorandums and wishes to constitute Telangana as a separate state. The separate Telangana agitation was launched in 1969
After a long period of conversations, discussions, and protests, requests for passing the bills after the 1990s, 1997, 2004, and 2008 and the late results of MLAs, some of them resigned from their posts and then elected new MLA Chief Ministers. And after 2009, the UPA government announced the process of statehood for Telangana would be initiated. Then after four years of protests, requests, and impactful discussions the UPA government started the separation process in July 2013 and conducted the process by passing the bill to both houses of parliament in Feb 2014.
The general elections were held in April 2014, and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi won 63 out of 119 seats and formed the government. The state of Telangana was finally formed and inaugurated on 2 June 2014.
