NEW DELHI: Children who appear in adults' social media posts, including those who do not have accounts of their own, fall within the safety responsibilities described by Softa Technologies for its Indian social platform as it expands across South Asia.
The provision was part of the model presented for ZKTOR Social App at the Press Club of India on September 18, 2026, when the company reported more than one million users in ten months of mass public beta across India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Softa says audience controls, protected delivery of photographs and videos, and specialist human review are intended to address different stages of exposure. The person who uploads an image and the person depicted in it are not treated as necessarily the same user.
That distinction places people outside the membership count within the company's account of responsibility. Country-based grievance officers and a Women and Children Wing are intended to handle reported harm through restricted-access, local-language review, with reasons, notification, escalation and appeals. Softa also acknowledges that an authorised viewer can still copy a screen. The system is not presented as preventing every exposure or making a later change in sharing permissions capable of retrieving every copy.
Founder Sunil Kumar Singh linked the child-safety provisions to a wider women-first model in which professional visibility can coexist with private family material and selected conversations. The commercial model is meant to retain the same boundaries: advertisers buy relevant reach, creators earn under defined terms and agencies provide services without acquiring unrestricted access to the people behind those activities. Safety evidence remains outside advertising, according to the company.
The audience total and technical descriptions are company-reported and have not been independently verified for this account. The figure is not daily active use or a separate user base for every related product, and the materials do not provide comparative detection-accuracy or complaint-response results. Bhutan and the Maldives remain in public beta outside the four markets covered by the announcement. The reported scale describes participation, not the number of people who may be affected by material that participants publish.
The uploader is not everyone in the photograph
Softa includes non-user children within its stated child-safety responsibilities rather than treating an account as the only basis for recognising a person affected by a contribution. An adult can make a posting decision while another person appears in the material. The company distinguishes those roles, with the Women and Children Wing and country-based review structure assigned to reported harm involving children. It is an account of the scope of the safeguards, not evidence that every conflict involving an image has already been resolved by the platform.
Audience choices govern who receives a contribution through the service. Public, friends-only and private settings allow different material to have different audiences, while comment and resharing controls govern interaction around it. Those choices do not, by themselves, settle every interest of everyone shown in a post.
Softa pairs control over delivery with a route to review reported harm, recognising that the person making the initial sharing choice and the person seeking protection may occupy different positions in the same case.
The distinction also runs between publication and later reuse. Permitting an audience to view an image is not a universal licence to copy, republish or commercially reuse it. Softa's materials treat audience permissions, media delivery and creator-income terms as different arrangements. A public contribution can attract attention or qualify for earnings without every subsequent use of it being explained by the fact that it was published.
The technical controls are not presented as a complete licensing system or a substitute for specialist review.
A child's lack of an account is therefore relevant to the limits of an audience statistic, not a reason the company gives for excluding the child's image from safety handling. The million-user total measures the participation Softa reports in its beta; it does not describe every person whose photograph, family relationship or private exchange might appear in material supplied by those users. The company has attached its stated responsibilities to people affected by content as well as to the accounts that create it.
Protected delivery still leaves routes for copying
No URL Media Architecture is Softa's description of protected photographs and videos delivered through audience permissions rather than reusable public file links. The intention is to restrict link-based extraction that can support scraping, impersonation and deepfake abuse. The phrase does not mean the application has no web addresses or that all publicly viewable material is confidential. It identifies a particular route of delivery and places that route under the relevant audience decision rather than possession of a reusable file link alone.
Screenshots, recordings and photographs taken of a screen with another device remain possible. Softa acknowledges that limitation, which means a permitted viewer can still produce a copy outside the platform's controlled delivery route. Changing permissions governs what the service supplies subsequently; it cannot universally retrieve a copy already made elsewhere. The company's stated protection is a restriction on access and extraction routes, not a promise that exposure can always be prevented or reversed after an image has reached another screen.
Those residual routes give detection and human review continuing work to do. VDL protective AI flags sexual-content, impersonation and child-safety risks, while specialist reviewers handle complaints and disputed restrictions. Softa does not describe an automated flag as a final determination or a delivery control as the end of the safety process. The materials set out these functions without comparative detection-accuracy or response-time figures, so they establish the approach the company describes rather than a measured claim of complete protection.
Physical access to a device introduces a related limit. One-time passwords (OTPs) can authenticate account access without determining who looks at an already-open account. Encrypted transmission does not conceal an image or message from someone viewing the recipient's screen. Softa's materials recognise shared-device risks alongside recipient copying. These limits are distinct from the access restrictions it describes for servers and delivery, and prevent the encryption terminology from being read as a solution to every way private material may be seen.
A remedy must not enlarge the exposure
Country-based grievance officers and the Women and Children Wing provide local-language human review, restricted case access, reasons for decisions, notifications, escalation and appeals. The company describes routes for a person reporting harm and for a user challenging a platform restriction. These are not identical claims: one asks the platform to examine another participant's conduct, while the other may ask it to reconsider its own action. Softa does not treat a report as proof against an account or remove human review from the decision process.
The evidence used to establish a case may be the material whose circulation is being challenged. Softa says access is confined to information relevant to handling the matter rather than the complainant's entire activity. A photograph or private message supplied for review is not, on that account, an invitation to unrelated staff or commercial partners to inspect the rest of the person's records. The purpose of receiving evidence remains protection and adjudication within the described process, not an opportunity to collect a broader personal history.
Safety information is excluded from advertising, the company says. That limit applies even where the parties also use the platform as advertisers, merchants or creators. Campaign management does not confer authority over grievance outcomes, and payment for reach is not described as a right to decide a complaint. Agencies can prepare and translate offers or support merchants without acquiring the case access of a specialist reviewer.
The distinction keeps the commercial relationship separate from the handling of sensitive evidence
HOLA AI supplies task-specific multilingual assistance, not the final decision on a grievance. VDL identifies risks; people within the review structure handle cases and appeals. Softa assigns those functions different permissions and responsibilities even where they use the same languages or shared engineering. Local-language handling is meant to make reporting, understanding a decision and challenging it usable in the communities the platform reaches, rather than reduce accountability to the presence of a reporting address.
A woman's work and family material need different audiences
The women-first model permits professional work to be public while family material and private exchanges remain more restricted. Softa says public, friends-only and private audiences can coexist within one account, supported by comment and resharing controls. A person may act as a creator, merchant, family member and private correspondent without the most visible role determining access to every other activity. Women's online dignity is thus connected to continued participation and earning, rather than being framed solely as withdrawing from public view.
The publishing range includes posts and status updates, short clips, long-form video channels, pages and news. Clubs and buddy connections support communities, while messaging and individual or group voice and video calls carry selected contact. Softa's super-app combines those functions while saying their audiences remain distinct. A public page can introduce work without making the conversations that follow public, and encryption of a private exchange does not make a deliberately public contribution confidential.
Commercial use brings additional relationships, not a general surrender of privacy. Creator programme terms allocate 70% of applicable income attributable to their content. The percentage is not automatically a share of every advertiser payment or total company revenue, and it does not guarantee earnings. Payment for distribution, the applicable income share and the right to reuse a contribution remain separate. Softa says a woman using the service professionally does not thereby widen access to family photographs, private conversations or evidence supplied when seeking help.
ZHAN contextual advertising matches subject, language and locality, with agencies preparing campaigns, translating offers and supporting merchants. The company says those assignments define the necessary access; they do not make every record of a shared client available to each provider. A merchant commissions reach or work, not unrelated access to customers' private lives. The same boundary remains when the merchant or creator needs specialist review, so the business relationship is not presented as making the complaint file commercial property.
Community ties without tracking movement
Softa's hyperlocal-first Local Digital Worlds organise discovery around districts, languages and communities chosen by users. It describes natural feeds without behavioural ranking and a no-pushed-algorithm model paired with zero behavioural tracking. The claim is about the use of behavioural histories, not an absence of software algorithms or all operational records. A declared interest supplies the community context rather than a continuing private history being assembled to choose what the person sees or how an advertiser reaches them.
Locality is also distinguished from movement tracking. A diaspora user can follow a hometown from another country without the service treating that interest as a record of present travel, the company says. Community connections may cross borders while national data arrangements remain separate. A chosen district supplies relevance for publishing, local information and merchant offers; it is not presented as a general permission to observe the user's journey. Distribution to a relevant community does not itself establish that everything published there is accurate.
Singh attributed Gen Z uptake to privacy, control and local relevance. The briefing materials do not provide an age breakdown or feature-use figures establishing that explanation independently, and the million-user aggregate is not a repeat-use measure. Comparative device-performance and connectivity benchmarks are also absent. Softa presents the service as a choice for particular activities within wider internet use, rather than requiring people to leave all existing networks before participating in a community or a private exchange.
The rural Bharat focus links local discovery with practical work and access to help. HOLA AI provides assistance for particular tasks, agencies supply merchant campaign work, and specialist reviewers handle grievances. District-level plans cover creative production, community operations and language support, without an employment total, agency count or complete timetable. Those are intended areas of work around the service, not results already demonstrated by the beta audience figure.
National custody is not unrestricted access
Softa says its country-based data sovereignty model uses separate national servers, encryption boundaries, keys and access controls, with backups and disaster recovery retained in-country. The boundary is intended to apply during service restoration as well as everyday operation. Shared software can support the deployments without pooling their records into one regional dataset. The company's account distinguishes the reuse of engineering from reuse of the personal information the engineering handles.
Cross-border communication remains part of the offering. Softa refers to India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) framework and the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in its stated compliance approach, without those references amounting to regulatory certification. Domestic storage does not itself authorise inspection by an operator or commercial partner. Audience permissions, encryption and task-specific controls still govern who may receive protected material and how a service is permitted to use it within the national arrangement.
Privacy and Data Safety by Design describes default limits on collection and access. Private exchanges use multi-layer encryption, device-to-device protection and rotating keys, with Zero Knowledge Server Architecture intended to restrict operator access to private content. Necessary operational records remain separate, and one-time passwords authenticate users. The company does not claim that public publishing is secret or that every operational record disappears. Authentication, confidentiality and delivery permissions address different points in the process.
Singh connects this structure to his ambition for Indian technological soft power while stressing country-specific responsibility for data and complaints. Softa links Indian development, Finnish headquarters and a Chicago research gateway; the organisational locations do not replace the national data arrangements. Common engineering is intended to reduce duplicated development work, with ISRO-inspired frugal engineering cited as an influence rather than an institutional partnership. The briefing does not supply comparative cost figures proving the resulting savings.
New functions retain the same limits
SNDESH was introduced at the September 18 briefing as a platform-linked messenger also being developed for standalone use. Its stated three-layer design combines device-to-device end-to-end encryption, message-level keys and rotating server-side protection. Softa says private exchanges stay outside feed ranking and advertising, adding a restriction on subsequent use to the technical protection. The announcement does not establish completion of every planned standalone function or a separate audience drawn from ZKTOR's million-user total.
KHOZU.com was introduced as evidence-first search and AI-assisted discovery, with inspectable sources, updated answers and visible corrections. Softa says it does not profile searchers or expose protected photographs, videos and messages. Public evidence supporting an answer is meant to be available for examination without making another person's private content an open source. The correction and source features do not promise error-free answers or certify every contribution distributed through a local feed.
HOLA AI supplies multilingual help for particular tasks, EZOWM supports commerce and ZWATO business administration. Softa says discovery, private negotiation, a purchase and later administration retain different information needs. A person can use several services without each acquiring an unrestricted view of the entire sequence. Private conversations, searches and purchases are excluded from combined advertising profiles, while shared engineering does not pool national datasets. The purpose of a task and the national arrangement remain separate boundaries within the integrated range.
Contextual advertising remains paid reach even within a natural-feed model. Softa distinguishes reporting on campaign delivery from keeping an enduring viewer profile, although it does not supply a detailed measurement system. Agencies account for commissioned work, creators participate under their qualifying income terms and merchants buy relevant distribution. The company says private records and safety evidence are not additional assets passed on with those services, and that common ownership of products does not change that limit.
Growth reaches people outside the metric
Singh, an Indian-origin Finnish citizen with more than two decades in Finland, traces the project to twelve years of India-focused research shaped by rural needs and European privacy culture. He said development took no government grants, Finnish or EU funding, external venture capital (VC) or business-house backing despite European funding opportunities, to retain control over data use. That is an account of routes not taken, not evidence that a specified grant was awarded and refused or an independent test of the security model.
Softa intends contextual advertising and professional services to support national infrastructure, in-country recovery systems and human complaint handling. It did not supply revenue or profitability results. Further national testing, standalone work on SNDESH and district-level creative, community and language activity remain in the programme, without a completed timetable or employment result for every part. Singh framed the project around the right to be online with privacy, data safety and dignity, linking participation to limits on access and routes to redress.
For children who appear in adults' posts, the relevant promise begins before membership. They need not be counted as users to be among the people affected by the service. Softa says its safeguards recognise that difference between the account making a contribution and the life represented within it. As the platform adds audiences and commercial relationships, the responsibility it has described is not confined to those who signed up; it also reaches those whose images were brought into view by someone else.
