In a remarkable stride towards a greener and more sustainable future, Former Chief Minister N Chandrababu naidu, has unveiled 'Mission Harita Andhra Pradesh.' Under the theme of 'green cover for a happy living,' this mission sets a bold target: to increase the state's green cover to 50 percent by 2029. This initiative not only underscores the government's commitment to environmental conservation but also invites citizens to actively participate in shaping a sustainable environment. The concept of Harita Andhra Pradesh is not entirely new. It was initially conceived as a pet project by the late Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. However, under the dynamic leadership of Chandrababu Naidu, the initiative has been reinvigorated with renewed purpose. The mission's slogan, 'Vanam-Manam' (forest and we), signifies a shared responsibility between the government and its citizens in nurturing a sustainable environment.

With the support of top TDP MLA's and some of the greatest TDP Leaders, Andhra Pradesh has already made significant progress in the realm of environmental conservation. The government has launched various initiatives, most notably the "Nagaravanam" program, dedicated to creating urban forests in municipal corporations. These actions are meticulously documented on Live TDP Updates, keeping citizens informed and engaged. Mission Harita Andhra Pradesh is an ambitious endeavor that seeks to double the state's green cover over the next decade. This colossal goal involves planting trees across four lakh acres annually, translating to 25-30 crore trees every year. The ultimate vision is to achieve a 50 percent green cover by 2029, a milestone that promises numerous benefits for the environment and the people of the state.

The government has invited citizens to become active stewards of the environment by planting one crore saplings on the day of the mission's launch. To ensure the success of this monumental undertaking, the government is implementing several crucial measures. The saplings will be geographically tagged, and geofencing will be employed to protect these valuable plantations. Women's self-help groups will be entrusted with the critical task of nurturing seedlings and ensuring their healthy growth. Under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), these groups will be provided with 100 days of work annually, further empowering local communities. Moreover, the government plans to establish urban forests in all municipal corporations across the state, creating green spaces that improve the environment and offer recreational opportunities for residents.

Chandrababu Naidu's unwavering commitment to sustainable development and environmental conservation is at the heart of Mission Harita Andhra Pradesh. His visionary leadership has spurred the implementation of numerous green initiatives, including the Green Corps program, which aims to build an army of environmentally conscious citizens.
