QS ranking organization (Quacquarelli Symonds - UK) recently announced the world's best university rankings for 2023 (QS World University Rankings 2023 - QS WUR 2023). In the world's top 10, British and American higher education institutions are still familiar names.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA)

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) holds the No. 1 position for 10 consecutive years in this ranking. This is the first school in the US to teach architecture and also the first school with female students in the US.

The school's admissions process is very strict. Only 8% of registered candidates were admitted in 2019. Graduates were accepted to work at leading companies and corporations in the world such as Google, Amazon and Apple.

Cambridge University (UK)

In second place in the ranking is the University of Cambridge - a prestigious joint research university in the UK (up 1 place compared to last year). Founded in 1209, it is the world's fourth oldest active university.

University of Oxford (UK)

Ranked 4th in this year's rankings is Oxford University - England's oldest university and one of the most prestigious universities in the world. Last year, this school ranked 2nd in the QS rankings (Quacquarelli Symonds) and ranked 1st in the THE rankings (Times Higher Education).

Currently, Oxford University has about 20,000 students, including an equal number of undergraduates and graduate students. 95% of Oxford University students find work or further study within 6 months of graduating.

Harvard University (USA)

For the 2nd year in a row, Harvard University is in the 5th position. At the same time, this is the 10th year in a row that Harvard University has appeared in the rankings.

Harvard University, founded in 1636, is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the world. The school belongs to the Ivy League - a group of 8 of the best private universities in the United States.

California Institute of Technology (USA)

Ranked 6th in the QS rankings (Quacquarelli Symonds - UK), the California Institute of Technology is home to 1,000 students and 1,250 graduate students. According to statistics, 99% of students admitted to the California Institute of Technology in each year are in the top 10% of the best students at their high schools. More than 50% of school students receive financial support while studying.

Imperial College London (UK)

Also in 6th place is Imperial College London. This is a famous public school belonging to the University of London system. The school was established in 1907 under the British Royal Constitution. After 114 years of formation and development, Imperial College London has become one of the leading schools in training medicine - health care and many other scientific fields.

Instead of multidisciplinary training, Imperial College London chose its own direction to focus on Science and technology. In 9th place is the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. The school was founded in 1854 by the Swiss Confederation and opened in 1855 with multidisciplinary training.

University of Chicago (USA)

Ranked 10th in the rankings, the University of Chicago (USA) was founded in 1890 with a donation from billionaire John D. Rockefeller.

The school has 11 dormitories with 38 separate buildings - a common living and entertainment environment for all students. Each building consists of a group of about 70 students sharing rooms and living areas together. Each building has its own rules, its own management board and its own support staff. Rooms can be used for all 4 years of study.
