When Should You Start Anti-ageing Treatments?

When Should You Start Anti-Ageing Treatments?

There are several anti-ageing options available. It started with creams, then moved swiftly onto injectables, and now we have options for skin treatments. Overall, there are many options because humanity as a whole is obsessed with slowing the ageing process, so new treatments are constantly being tested and introduced into the beauty world.

The question for many people is when to start these treatments, whether it’s for preventative measures or to start trying to reverse the signs that have already begun is when to begin each treatment in an ideal world.

Botox (Anti-Wrinkle Injections)

Botox is one of the most well-known and likely most used solutions to ageing signs such as wrinkles. There was a lot of misinformation being spread online regarding ‘preventive botox’, which suggests starting botox treatments before you start to see the signs of aging thereofre women in their early 20s were starting anti-wrinkle treatments way before they needed to.

Anti-wrinkle injections like Botox are extremely effective when ageing has begun, and can be combined with dermal fillers to fill any lost volume; therefore, they should be used as a last resort or option for people who are unable to go through the natural anti-ageing process and methods.

While you are able to start Botox treatments from 18, if you postpone the use of Botox for as long as you are willing to, you will be able to appreciate the effects for longer and so forth.

Microneedling

A method of microinjuries that helps promote collagen production is a relatively new form of anti-ageing. It’s essentially creating microtraumas to the skin, which encourages your skin to heal and naturally produce more collagen. This treatment is also very useful for scaring and pigmentation.

It’s a great method of anti-ageing for those who are starting to notice fine or deeper lines in areas such as the neck, eyes, forehead and mouth. As this treatment is extremely natural and doesn't involve injectables that can migrate or temporarily paralyse nerves, you can begin this treatment from 18 especially if you struggle with acne.

Zaffiro

A very modern form of anti-ageing that is also minimally invasive and natural. It uses technologies such as thermal infrared and water peeling techniques that heat up layers of the skin and promote collagen production through shrinking existing collagen fibres and stimulating new ones to form. It’s essentially getting your body to create newer and stronger collagen fibres that, over time, can result in firmer and tighter skin.

It’s recommended that to see results, you need at least three sessions to begin with and then top up sessions every 6 months to a year if you need it. This is a great preventative treatment, and as collagen begins to decline in your 30’s, this feels like the perfect time to start a very low-maintenance, and natural treatment that helps with anti-ageing naturally from within.

Wrinkle Cream

While you could argue that this is the first form of anti-ageing that was ever created, it has its obvious pros and cons. It seems that the only true natural anti-ageing cream available is retinol, which works by smoothing the top layer of skin and reducing the signs of fine lines and wrinkles.

This is a very surface-level option of anti-ageing that is more of an extra safe measure alongside additional scientifically researched treatments.

Overall

Diet, hydration and SPF also have huge impacts on the way you age, so in order to delay any need for anti-ageing treatments, just ensure that you’ve got these 3 simple steps nailed down first, and hopefully you don’t feel the need to have treatment until your 40s onwards.
