England Player Ratings: Ivan Toney And Kobbie Mainoo Seize Chance But Lewis Dunk Struggles

Check out the player ratings for England during Tuesday’s 2-2 tie with Belgium at Wembley. Youri Tielemans took advantage of two mistakes made by the home team after Ivan Toney’s penalty kick, and James Maddison set up Jude Bellingham for a dramatic late equalizer.

The first goal for Belgium was a mess, as Pickford attempted to force a pass out but instead found Amadou Onana, who set up Youri Tielemans for the finish, with the goalie sprinting back across his goalmouth. Pickford is undoubtedly England’s top scorer. Wasn’t needed to make up for that error with the deft saves he made against Brazil. There isn’t currently a strong competition challenging him for the first position.

Ezri Konsa (6)
began the game at right-back but, when John Stones was sent off, was quickly moved into the middle. Couldn’t do anything to prevent the two first-half goals but made a fine tackle to stop Jeremy Doku’s charge after the interval and was cool with passes in and around his own area. Will stay lower in the hierarchy for the time being, though.

John Stones – N/A
Only only nine minutes for him to become the latest casualty of an injury in England. Although it appeared harmless, Man City manager Pep Guardiola will be even more concerned about it ahead of their crucial match against Arsenal on Sunday, which will be live on Sky Sports, given that Kyle Walker was sent off during the Brazil match.

Lewis Dunk: 5
Two games, two errors which have contributed to opponent goals. The Brighton center back has had a difficult international break. VAR called an offside, costing him an assist for Bowen. Made initial contact on the long ball forwards for Bellingham’s goal, which was another illustration of what he can offer in the opposition box. But Harry Maguire’s spot looks even more secure than it did.

Ben Chilwell, age six
Despite being given another chance following his unsatisfactory performance against Brazil, the Chelsea player currently lacks match sharpness and form. Given his injury layoffs, that makes sense, but Luke Shaw is a major doubt for the Euros. Chilwell needs to settle into a groove by summer, according to Southgate. failed to make the most of his possession in this game in the first half, but he improved defensively and became more involved in the action.

Mainoo Kobbie – 8
What a treasure. Cool and collected in his debut for his country, he twisted around in midfield to set up the penalty for Toney and demonstrated that he was more than just a holding midfielder by charging into the box, especially when his eyes lighted up for a shot that Matz Sels superbly saved. Colleagues cheered for some strong tackling in the middle of the park, and Onana was forced to make a mistake by intense pressure. Too much, too soon? Mainoo already looks at home on the international stage.

Declan Rice, six
Captain on his 50th appearance and the senior man in midfield at just 25, Rice put in another solid display. made a poor decision to mark Leandro Trossard instead of tracking Tielemans for the second, but aside from that, he hardly ever made a mistake. used the ball well, but with Stones gone, had to take on a more specialized role.

Jude Bellingham – 8
It just had to be him! A deserved goal for a player who drove England forward throughout the contest. Bellingham is only 20 years old, but he already commands the field and is a key member of this team. demonstrated his skill by finding space to roam and combining well with Mainoo, Bowen, and Toney. He was also a continual nuisance to Belgium, setting up the pass through for Toney’s penalty. Should have scored a few goals early in the game, but in the end, it gave Southgate and England supporters something to cheer about.

Jarrod Bowen, seven
Thought he had his first international goal with a close-range header but while offside denied him there was no question he impressed. made a lightning-fast start to cross for Toney and appeared nimble when cutting to the right to connect with Bellingham. didn’t mishandle a pass in the first half, but Belgium was concerned about his deep dribbling. A strong argument for summertime inclusion.

Ivan Toney – 8
His big audition, and he looked menacing right away. He couldn’t turn in an early Bowen cross but won and scored a penalty to get England back level and showcase what he can bring to a shootout at the Euros. Brought others into action, fired shots on goal… a lot to appreciate in this display.

Phil Foden – 7
failed to display his Man City form against Brazil, and once more, there was no memorable play to highlight his brilliance; instead, his late strike across the goal’s face should have done the trick. But a classy display from Foden nonetheless. Looked after the ball immaculately and was far more comfortable playing off Toney than Ollie Watkins. looked for central positions throughout the second half, and Toney nearly had a chance to score before seeing one of his own blocked after a brilliant turn.

Ollie Watkins – 6
He was given a late opportunity to make an impression after witnessing Toney’s impressive performance, and he will be happy to have contributed to the setup of the late equalizer. However, he is aware that in order to compete for a spot on the plane, he must continue to play like Villa.https://watchnewz.com/sports/england-player-ratings-ivan-toney-and-kobbie-mainoo-seize-chance-but-lewis-dunk-struggles/
